Roseburg Police charged a man and cited a woman Thursday in connection with an alleged assault case.
An RPD report said at 12:00 p.m. officers contacted the 38-year-old woman and a juvenile at the Public Safety Center on Southeast Douglas Avenue regarding an ongoing investigation. The juvenile confirmed that she witnessed the 34-year-old man assault the woman. The victim had multiple bruises on her arms and legs and could not raise her left hand above her shoulder. The man was already in jail on an unrelated case. A charge of fourth-degree felony assault was added. He remained detained without bail.
Officers determined that probable cause existed to arrest the woman for third-degree assault after she and two other suspects allegedly assaulted a victim during a bar fight at a business on Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. She was released after the citation was issued.
