A motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle wreck on Monday afternoon.

A Roseburg Police report said just after 2:20 p.m. officers responded to the intersection of Southeast Pine Street and Southeast Oak Avenue regarding a traffic crash. Upon arrival, officers learned that the 69-year-old motorcyclist was riding south on Pine Street. As he proceeded through the intersection, his motorcycle hit the rear driver side of an SUV.

The collision caused the motorcyclist to fly over his handlebars, landing in the intersection, while the SUV spun onto the sidewalk. The rider was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for his injuries, while the motorist was not injured.

After speaking with both people involved, each claimed that they had a green light. Neither person was cited for the accident. Both vehicles were recovered by a towing company.
