SUNNY WARM WEEKEND AHEAD, BUT NOT NEAR RECORDS

A sunny warm weekend is ahead for the Umpqua Valley, but high temperatures will remain well below record highs for the dates.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that highs on Saturday and Sunday are forecast to be in the mid 60’s. The record high temperature for Roseburg on March 8th is 75 degrees, set in 1953. Sunday’s record high is 77 degrees, which was reached in 1977. The high temperatures will be about 8 degrees above the normal afternoon highs for this week.

The chance of rain begins on Monday, with precipitation expected for most of next week.
