Sutherlin Police jailed a man following a series of alleged incidents on Friday night.
An SPD report said at 7:45 p.m. 34-year-old William Emery allegedly caused a disturbance at a business in the 1400 block of West Central Avenue. Emery reportedly stole a can of alcohol and refused to leave after being advised to.
Just after 10:00 p.m. Emery reportedly went to a business in the 100 block of Myrtle Street and allegedly threatened employees and then left on foot. He was then reported for pulling on door handles. When contacted the man threatened to fight officers but was detained. He refused to walk and had to be carried to the patrol vehicle. On the way to corrections, the man repeatedly kicked the plexiglass divider window in the vehicle, in an attempt to damage it.
At corrections the man would not identify himself and was lodged as John Doe. He was later identified. Emery was charged with resisting arrest, harassment, two counts of second-degree disorderly conduct, third-degree theft, third-degree criminal mischief, second degree criminal trespass, and for a warrant. Bail was set at $27,500.
