ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR CAMPING AND LITTERING CHARGES

Roseburg Police jailed a man on camping and littering charges on Wednesday morning.

An RPD report said just after 8:30 a.m. officers contacted the 62-year-old at his camp in the 200 block of Southeast Pine Street. The camp was set up during a prohibited time and consisted of several tents covered in a tarp. The camp was reportedly surrounded by various personal items and large amounts of trash and rubbish which detracted from the natural beauty of the park.

The man was charged with a misdemeanor count of prohibited camping and for offensive littering. He was detained on $6,250 bail.
