A Myrtle Creek woman was charged with two counts of harassment following an incident on Tuesday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said shortly before 2:00 p.m. law enforcement received a call stating that the 35-year-old had smacked a minor child and then attacked another resident of a home in the 900 block of Laura Street in Myrtle Creek.

When the deputy arrived on the scene, he made contact with a victim who advised that she had asked the suspect who she was talking to on the phone. The victim said the woman had put the phone screen in her face, before the victim pushed it away. The victim reported that the suspect had slapped her twice in the face. The deputy noted a faint discoloration and bruises to the victim’ left cheek. The victim advised that afterwords, she saw the woman attack a second victim in the front yard.

The second victim advised that after the first victim was slapped, she was in the front yard talking and the woman got upset and a disturbance ensued. During the altercation between the second victim and the suspect, the woman allegedly hit the victim several times on top of the head, pulling her hair and reportedly attempting to gouge her right eye with her fingers.

The suspect was detained without bail.
