ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL WOMAN FOR ALLEGED PRIOR DISTURBANCE

Roseburg Police jailed a woman early Monday due to an alleged prior disturbance incident.

An RPD report said at 2:00 a.m. officers contacted 34-year-old Samantha Cotton in the 2700 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway regarding a disturbance that allegedly took place on Saturday. During the investigation, it was discovered that Cotton had poured boiling water over a victim’s head, causing substantial burns to his scalp. She was taken into custody without incident.

Cotton was charged with 4th-degree felony assault, attempting to commit a class B felony and second-degree assault. She was detained on $25,000 bail.
