Sutherlin Police jailed a man for a felony count of 4th degree assault on Thursday night.

An SPD report said at 8:45 p.m. 47-year-old Sean Kelly allegedly struck a victim in the eye with a soda can, causing significant swelling and bruising. The incident reportedly occurred at a home in the 100 block of West First Avenue.

The man was detained without bail.
