COMMISSIONERS ISSUE PROCLAMATION HONORING FFA WEEK

February 21, 3:20 a.m.

On Wednesday, Douglas County Commissioners Tim Freeman, Tom Kress and Chris Boice issued a proclamation recognizing this week as FFA Week in Douglas County, prior to their weekly meeting.

A county release said the proclamation recognizes the important role that the FFA youth programs and agricultural education classes in our local high schools play in providing a strong foundation for youth to excel in leadership roles, realize their personal goals, and obtain valuable tools to prepare them for real-world success.

Fifty-two highs school FFA students and seven agricultural science teachers and advisors, representing seven of the nine Douglas County FFA chapters attended the ceremony. In total, over 1,200 youth participate in local FFA programs annually.
