A Myrtle Creek woman was jailed on the charge of resisting arrest on Monday.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 9:50 a.m. the 19-year-old called a family member and asked him to pick her up from a location on Highway 138E, just east of Glide. When the family member found the woman, she was allegedly very intoxicated. He started driving her home but pulled over after she reportedly started threatening to assault him if he didn’t buy her alcohol. The man called 911.
The deputy contacted the woman who was allegedly out of control and very intoxicated. The deputy advised her that she could either make the family member feel safe about driving her home or go to the Sobering Center with the deputy. The deputy told her that she was in custody and was not free to go. The woman reportedly tried to climb out of the vehicle and stated that she was going to run. The deputy grabbed one of her wrists and she allegedly pulled away, knocking the handcuffs away with her other hand and grabbed onto the gear shifter. The deputy told the woman that she was going to jail, but she reportedly continued to resist.
The woman was eventually taken into custody and transported to corrections where she allegedly fought with jail staff. She was also cited for being a minor in possession of alcohol. The woman was detained without bail.
