A Happy Valley man was arrested after a wrong way driver incident on Interstate 5 early Saturday

An Oregon State Police release said just before 1:30 a.m. troopers responded to the report near milepost 121, by the landfill exit. The Oregon Department of Transportation reported that a sedan was driving north in the southbound lane. The vehicle self-corrected at milepost 123, the fairgrounds exit but was reportedly unable to maintain its lane.

Troopers located the sedan on Interstate 5 north on the Rice Valley on-ramp. The driver was contacted and allegedly showed signs of impairment. Ultimately the 25-year-old was arrested for driving under the influence of an intoxicant and reckless driving. A towing company retrieved his vehicle.
