Roseburg Police cited a man for DUII following a single vehicle crash on Monday night.
An RPD report said just before 7:30 p.m. officers responded to the accident near the intersection of West Harvard Avenue and West Madrone Street. It appeared that the large SUV crashed between the Washington Avenue and Oak Avenue bridges on the west side, ending up partway down the hill towards the South Umpqua River.
Officers noticed that the 50-year-old driver showed signs of impairment. The man admitted to drinking a beer while driving prior to the wreck. He refused standard field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. The man was transported to corrections where he was cited and released for driving under the influence of an intoxicant.
His vehicle was impounded.
