TRANSIENT JAILED AFTER INCIDENTS AT THE COURTHOUSE

A transient was jailed after incidents at the Douglas County Courthouse on Wednesday and Thursday.

A DCSO report said the 35-year-old was discovered inside the courthouse after hours. The man was identified. It was unknown at that time that the man had broken a window. The broken window was later discovered. Surveillance cameras showed the suspect breaking the window and then entering the building at approximately 11:00 p.m. Wednesday and again on Thursday at 4:00 a.m.

Friday evening at about 10:20 p.m. deputies located the suspect in Canyonville. He was detained without incident. The man was charged with second-degree counts of criminal trespass and criminal mischief. He was detained without bail.
