A semi-truck rolled on Interstate 5 northbound near milepost 108 in the Myrtle Creek area early Friday, causing traffic issues that lasted for hours.
An Oregon State Police report said at approximately 1:20 a.m. the commercial motor vehicle was negotiating a curve at a higher speed than allowed, causing it to roll onto its side, then slide for several hundred feet before coming to rest. When it stopped the CMV was blocking all northbound lanes of travel.
A detour for the northbound traffic was put in place by the Oregon Department of Transportation. One lane of the freeway was re-opened at around 6:30 a.m. while cleanup continued. The freeway was totally re-opened later in the morning.
The CMV was eventually removed from the freeway by a towing company. The driver, a 32-year-old California man, was not injured.
