Roseburg Police jailed a man for a warrant on Thursday evening.
An RPD report said at 8:00 p.m. officers contacted the 21-year-old in the 2500 block of Northeast Stephens Street, knowing he had a warrant for his arrest.
When officers asked him his name, he claimed to be “Josh Allen”. Officers told the man that he was under arrest, and he fled from the scene. He was located a short time later and taken into custody without incident. During the inventory of his backpack, about 2.65 grams of suspected methamphetamine was located.
The man was charged with the warrant, third-degree escape, providing false information to a police officer, and for unlawful possession of meth. He was detained on $12,500 bail.
