Roseburg Police jailed two people for a littering incident early Tuesday.

An RPD report said at 2:20 a.m. the 32-year-old man and 34-year-old woman were contacted at Deer Creek Park in the 200 block of Southeast Pine Street. Their camp was surrounded by trash and was within 100 feet of the South Umpqua River.

The woman was charged with depositing trash within 100 yards of a waterway and detained on $2,500 bail. The man was charged with offensive littering and was held on $1,250 bail. Both people were also cited for prohibited camping.
