DETECTIVES INVESTIGATE APPARENT HOMICIDE/SUICIDE IN YONCALLA

Detectives with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an apparent homicide/suicide in Yoncalla.

Undersheriff Brad O’Dell said Friday night at approximately 10:20 p.m. a business called DCSO requesting a welfare check on an employee who had not shown up for work.

O”Dell said deputies responded to a residence in the 100 block of Williams Road in Yoncalla. Upon arrival, a deputy observed two people down in the home and forced entry. The deputy confirmed that the adult individuals were deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

O’Dell said detectives were requested to the scene along with the Douglas County Medical Examiner’s Office. Evidence at the scene indicates the incident is likely a homicide/suicide. O’Dell said the names of both individuals and the details of the victim and perpetrator are being withheld at this time pending next of kin notification and further investigation.
