Roseburg Police jailed a man after contacting him on Tuesday night.

An RPD report said at 6:00 p.m. officers saw the 61-year-old on Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad property in the 300 block of Southeast Sykes Street. It was found that the man was a sex offender for sex abuse in the first degree and had not registered since July of 2023. He was taken into custody without incident.

The man was charged with a felony count of failure to report as a sex offender and first-degree trespass. He was detained without bail and was released later in the evening.
