YMCA OF DOUGLAS COUNTY OFFERING BEGINNER SPANISH CLASS

January 29, 2025 3:05 a.m.

The YMCA of Douglas County has a beginner Spanish class starting soon.

This series is designed to introduce students to the basics of the Spanish language. In the class, students will learn the fundamentals of Spanish grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary and conversational skills. The class includes a mix of lectures, group activities, and homework assignments. By the end of the series, students should be able to hold basic conversations in Spanish and feel comfortable navigating common scenarios in Spanish.

Instructor Larua Naredo spent many years living in Mexico City and is very involved in her community locally. While she works at the YMCA and is a substitute teacher, her passion is to share and teach the language to others.

Sessions will be held on Saturdays from February 15th through March 22nd, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Cost for the 6-week course is $145, which is due by the time of the first class. The class will be held at the YMCA on Northwest Stewart Parkway.
