Roseburg Police jailed two people and cited one of them after contacting them on Monday.

An RPD report said at 10:50 a.m. officers contacted the 50-year-old man and 41-year-old woman at the man’s camp in the 200 block of Southeast Pine Street. The camp was near the riverbank and consisted of a small tent that was surrounded by trash that detracted from the natural cleanliness of the area.

During the contact the man was found to have a warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody. The woman’s probation stipulations prohibited her from being in contact with the man. Her probation officer authorized a detainer, and she was taken into custody.

The man was detained on $1,000 bail and the woman was held without bail. The man was cited and released for offensive littering and prohibited camping.
