Umpqua Watersheds, the City of Roseburg Parks and Recreation Department and Thrive Umpqua will hold their annual River Restoration/Cleanup and Invasive Species Removal event on Monday as part of the MLK Service Day.
A Watersheds release said the event is held to bring the community together to clean up and celebrate the most loved community parks.
Participants will remove invasive species, cleanup graffiti, replenish wood chips on the frisbee golf course and more.
As a bonus, this year’s event is part of Thrive Umpqua’s Community Well Being Challenge.
The event will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Stewart Park Pavilion in Roseburg. Volunteers will receive trash bags, supplies, tools, and instructions regarding where they can help. Hot beverages and snacks will be available. Participants should bring food, water, and weather appropriate clothing.
