AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY CONTINUES THROUGH NOON FRIDAY

January 8, 2025 4:00 a.m.

An Air Stagnation Advisory remains in effect through 12:00 p.m. Friday for much of southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said strong valley inversions will result in weak winds, and poor mixing and ventilation. This will lead to stagnant air conditions that will trap pollutants near the surface.

The Advisory area includes central Douglas County and its eastern foothills, Josephine and Jackson counties and eastern Curry County. It applies to the cities of Roseburg, Grants Pass, Cave Junction and Medford.

Forecasters said poor air quality may cause issues for people with respiratory problems.
