Roseburg Police jailed a man following an alleged disorderly conduct incident on Saturday night.

An RPD report said at 11:00 p.m. officers responded after a caller said there had been a drive by shooting in the 400 block of West Fair Street. Prior to the officer’s arrival, a citizen reported that a man was armed and had possibly shot their vehicle. Upon arrival, 42-year-old Wesley Thompson was standing in the middle of the road and allegedly did not comply with commands.

Thompson allegedly punched an officer in the shoulder before being forced to the ground. He was detained after a brief fight. Following an investigation, officers determined there was not a shooting, but that Thompson had allegedly punched a vehicle and pounded on another neighbor’s door. His probation officer authorized a detainer, and Thompson was transported to corrections.

The man was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct, harassment and a probation violation. Thompson was detained on $5,000 bail.
