The Bureau of Land Management, Roseburg District and the Umpqua National Forest has the Land of Umpqua Amateur Photo Contest underway.
It is an opportunity for residents to share photos they have taken on public lands within the Roseburg District BLM or the Umpqua National Forest during the last two years.
Photos can be of towering rock formations, wild and scenic rivers, recreation areas or trails. The contest is part of a multi-agency exhibit at the 29th annual Sportsman’s & Outdoor Recreation Show, which will be held from February 7th-9th at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.
Photos must be received no later than January 17th. Contestants can enter up to three photos for each of two categories:
*Seasons on Public Lands
*Water, Waterfalls

Contest Rules:
1. Photos must be taken on, or of, public lands in Roseburg District BLM or Umpqua
National Forest within the last two years.
2. Submit digital images to gdeimel@blm.gov No hard copies will be accepted.
3. Photos must be submitted by the original photographer and contain no watermarks.
4. Photos may be color or black and white. Recommend minimum of 8 x10, 300 DPI.
5. Photographs may NOT be enhanced digitally except for cropping and contrast.
6. Submit up to 3 photos per category (6 photo maximum). Categories: (1) Seasons on
Public Lands, (2) Water, Waterfalls. Please include name, telephone number, email
address, location, and category selected with submission.
7. Photo entries must be submitted no later than Friday, January 17, 2025, at 8 a.m.
8. Photos will be voted on by people attending the 2025 Douglas County Sportsmen’s Show.
9. Winners will be notified and posted on the BLM Roseburg District website and social
media channels. Only winner’s first and last names will be shared.
10. The photos become property of the event organizers and may be used by the sponsoring
agencies in future publications, websites or programs.
11. Agencies reserve the right to limit the number of photos displayed for voting due to space
constraints of the booth.
