Covering coastal Douglas County:
A High Surf Advisory remains in effect through Sunday evening at 10:00 p.m. for the south-central Oregon coast.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said large breaking waves of 21 to 26 feet are expected.
The Advisory applies to the beaches and shorelines of Douglas, Coos and Curry counties.
Forecasters said extremely large breaking waves will create very hazardous conditions along beaches and shorelines. Waves will inundate beaches and surge into normally dry areas. Infrastructure damage and significant beach erosion can be expected.
The highest surf is expected Monday morning into Monday afternoon. Conditions are expected to improve on Tuesday, but another round of dangerous surf conditions can be expected late on Wednesday through Thursday, if not longer.
Forecasters said beaches and coastlines will become hazardous due to very large and life-threatening surf conditions. Residents should stay off beaches, rocks, jetties, piers and other waterside infrastructure.
