Covering Coastal Douglas County:
A High Surf Advisory is in effect from Saturday at 7:00 a.m. to Sunday at 10:00 p.m. for coastal areas on the south central and southern Oregon coast.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said large breaking waves of 21 to 24 feet are expected.
The Advisory area includes the beaches and shorelines of Douglas, Coos and Curry counties.
Forecasters said large breaking waves will create hazardous conditions along and within the surf zone and could inundate beaches and low-lying shorelines. Beach erosion is possible, and exposed infrastructure may be damaged.
A strong long period swell will arrive Monday and bring the chance for High Surf warning conditions with large breaking waves of 24 to 28 feet.
Forecasters said people should stay away from the surf zone and off jetties. Area beaches may become hazardous due to dangerous surf conditions.
