Roseburg had a record breaking high on Wednesday, eclipsing a mark that had stood for 65-years.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury reached 65 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. That broke the previous record high for December 18th, which was 63 degrees set in 1959. The normal high temperature in Roseburg this week is 48 degrees. That’s 17 degrees below Wednesdays high.
It was also the second record breaking day in a row, after the airport got to 61 degrees on Tuesday. The previous record for December 17th was 60 degrees, set in 1999.
A cooling trend is expected to begin on Thursday with increasing clouds and a high of 56 degrees. Rain is likely to start early Saturday in the Umpqua Valley and continue through the weekend.
