A Portland man was jailed for driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving on Tuesday night.

An Oregon State Police report said just before 7:00 p.m. a vehicle was traveling northbound on Interstate 5 near the Salt Spring Road exit in north county when it struck an unknown vehicle. The damage on the vehicle appeared to have been caused by striking the rear trailer of an unknown commercial motor vehicle.

The 31-year-old driver was contacted and determined to be under the influence. He was detained without bail. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
