WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR MOUNTAIN AREAS IN SOUTHERN OREGON

December 15, 2024 7:00 a.m. 

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for mountain areas in parts of southern Oregon from 10:00 p.m. Sunday through 4:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said snow is expected. Total snow accumulations of between 5 and 15 inches are expected with winds gusting as high as 40 miles per hour.

The Advisory area applies to the southern Oregon Cascades north of Lake of the Woods, including Crater Lake, and Diamond Lake, and the Cascade passes along highways 62, 138, 230 and 58.

Forecasters said travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes.
