In the KQEN Business Spotlight:
The owners of the Hanna Heritage Place development on Northwest Mulholland Drive in Roseburg are getting set to have the former Elmer’s Restaurant building removed. Bruce Hanna told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that in preparation, the company has recently allowed the Roseburg Fire Department and Central Douglas Fire and Rescue to access the building in order to get needed training.
Elmer’s Restaurant closed in August. It was owned by Thomason Hospitality Group, based in Grants Pass. Hanna said the building was constructed in the early 1970s. Hanna said developers are working on plans for the site, but nothing is firmed up yet.
The highly visible location is on the corner of Mullholland Drive and Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard, just east of Interstate 5.
On Wednesday, work appeared to be going on inside the building. Hanna said the deconstruction will become very visible this week and into early next week.
Also at the Hanna Heritage Place, A new Holiday Inn Express motel is under construction just north of the old Elmer’s building. Hanna hopes to have that project completed in the spring of 2026.
