Roseburg Police jailed two people when a stolen vehicle was recovered early Saturday.
An RPD report said at approximately 2:15 a.m. an officer made a traffic stop on the vehicle near the intersection of Northwest Harvey Drive and Northwest Stewart Parkway. All occupants were detained without incident. During the investigation, the driver, a 24-year-old woman, allegedly showed signs of impairment. She was arrested and transported to corrections where she consented to standard field sobriety tests and reportedly performed poorly. The driver provided a breath sample with a 0.09 percent blood alcohol level. While in corrections, she was allegedly found to be in possession of a user amount of methamphetamine.
The 42-year-old man who was a passenger in the vehicle and a suspect in the initial case, admitted to stealing the vehicle and told officers that the woman was not involved in the theft.
The passenger was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and for a warrant. He was detained without bail. The driver was charged with driving under the influence of an intoxicant and unlawful possession of meth. She was detained without bail and was released early Monday.
