Roseburg Police jailed a man on a second-degree theft charge on Sunday night.

An RPD report said at 10:45 p.m. officers responded after a caller said there had been a theft from Walmart in the 2100 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway. The 25-year-old suspect had allegedly gotten into a vehicle and fled. Officers located the vehicle and identified the suspect.

The man admitted to stealing over $300 worth of merchandise from the store. He also had a warrant for his arrest out of Lane County. Bail was set at $26,250.
