December 8, 2024 3:20 p.m.

A travel trailer was a total loss, following a fire on Saturday night.

Battalion Chief Mitch Doss of Central Douglas Fire & Rescue said just before 9:00 p.m. crews were dispatched to the fire in the 400 block of Gregory Street in Winston. Doss said the first arriving engine reported a fully involved trailer fire with multiple nearby structures.

Doss said thanks to the response of firefighters, the fire spread was stopped and contained to the travel trailer, which suffered significant damage. No injuries were reported by the resident or the firefighters working on the scene.

CDF&R responded to the incident with two fire engines, one truck and one command unit, totaling 9 personnel. Due to the heavy damage, crews could not determine the cause of the fire. Firefighters at the scene were assisted by the Winston Police Department and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
