Umpqua Actors Community Theatre’s 14-show run of the production of A Christmas Story is nearly sold out, after opening Thursday night.
Narrator Brian Simshauser said as of Friday, only around 50 tickets are still available. Many of those are for two fundraising performances on December 21st and 22nd. Proceeds from those shows will help Douglas County youth performers who are going to New York City to see shows on Broadway in March of 2026.
11-year-old Fisher McEnroe is the star of the show, playing the part of Ralphie, a young boy who wants a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. McEnroe has acted in UACT productions before, but said starring does present more challenges. He was quite pleased with how things went on opening night.
Tickets for A Christmas Story are $17 for adults and $12 for children. Tickets for the fundraising performances are $25 each. They are available at www.uact-theatre.com, or by calling 673-2125.
Brian Simshauser and Fisher McEnroe were on the Morning Conversation Friday on News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN. That interview is a KQEN Podcast at www.541radio.com
