The Zonta Club of Roseburg will have a Holiday Costume 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, December 14th at 9:00 a.m.
Participants are invited to dress up as Santa, a reindeer, a super-hero, or just as themselves. The event begins and ends at the Roseburg High School Student Center.
Early Bird registration is $25 through Friday. From Saturday through December 12th, the cost is $30. Day-of registration is $35. Kids ages 12 and under can participate for free.
There will be a prize for the first male and female finisher and for the best costume. Water and snacks will be available at the student center.
Proceeds will help Zonta work to end violence against women. Funds will also support Zonta’s HandUp program which provides small grants to women needing a hand up to improve their lives. HandUp can help pay for items such as job skills certification exams, transportation costs to get to work to earn a first paycheck, or an interview worthy outfit.
The Holiday Costume 5K Run/Walk is supported by Roseburg High School, Umpqua Community College cross country and track and field teams, Sherm’s Thunderbird Market and Old Soul Pizza.
