ONE JAILED, ONE TAKEN TO HOSPITAL AFTER TWO-VEHICLE WRECK

One person was jailed and was one cited following a two-vehicle accident on Monday.

A Roseburg Police report said at 10:15 a.m. officers responded to the wreck at the intersection of West Harvard Avenue and West Umpqua Street. Officers determined that a 24-year-old was traveling west on Harvard Avenue in a sedan and ran the stop light at the intersection with Umpqua Street.  A 64-year-old driver was turning east on Harvard Avenue from Umpqua Street when her SUV was struck by the sedan.

The driver of the second vehicle and a passenger were transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for minor injuries. During the investigation, officers learned that a passenger in the second vehicle had a warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody without incident and detained without bail.

The driver who caused the accident was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device, driving uninsured and driving while suspended.
