UMPQUA MAN JAILED FOR ALLEGED MENACING INCIDENT

An Umpqua man was jailed for an alleged menacing incident on Saturday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 11:15 p.m. a victim said he was trespassing the 25-year-old for causing a verbal disturbance at Loves Travel Spot in the 200 block of Grant Smith Road in the Green district.

The suspect reportedly charged at the victim with his right fist up in the air and made threatening statements to him as he got in the victim’s face. The victim said he backed away and the man charged at him two additional times with his fist held up

The suspect allegedly sped out of Love’s parking lot while yelling and throwing trash out his window. The victim had video from part of the altercation and the deputy was able to read the license plate of the suspect’s SUV. Deputies contacted the suspect near the corner of Northeast Stephens Street and Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard in Roseburg.

The suspect admitted to charging and threatening the employee, He was taken to corrections and trespassed from the business. The man was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct and menacing. He was detained without bail.
