FLOOD POTENTIAL OUTLOOK CONTNUES FOR SOUTHERN OREGON

A Flood Potential Outlook continues for river flooding and small stream flooding in Douglas, Coos, Curry, Josephine and Jackson counties.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said a series of storms is bringing heavy precipitation to the state this week. The heaviest rainfall is expected in Curry County where they will likely see 8 inches of rain through the week. Rainfall rates could briefly approach up to one inch per hour. There is the potential for heavy rain through Friday.

Creeks and streams below recent burn scars will likely be muddy. The Archie Creek and McKinney Fire burn scars continue to be of concern during heavy rainfall.
