WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT THROUGH 4:00 P.M. WEDNESDAY

November 20, 2024 4:00 a.m. 

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect through 4:00 p.m. Wednesday in the South- Central Cascades in Douglas, Jackson and Klamath counties, above 4,000 feet.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said heavy snow is expected with total snow accumulations between 7 and 32 inches. Winds will gust as high as 75 miles per hour over exposed terrain.

The Warning applies to Crater Lake, Diamond Lake and portions of highways 138, 62 and 230.

Whiteout conditions are possible and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Travel could be difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning commute. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines. Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous.
