Roseburg Police cited a woman for an alleged attempted theft at a store on Saturday.

An RPD report said 1:50 p.m. officers responded after a caller said the 52-year-old had left the business in the 700 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard after she had shoplifted. The suspect was detained nearby and explained to officers that she did not make it out of the store with the product, but she did not plan on paying for it.

A store employee confirmed that the woman was stopped before leaving the business or getting past any points of check out. She was cited for third-degree theft and then was released.
