WINTER STORM WARNING FOR MOUNTAIN AREAS IN PARTS OF SOUTHERN OREGON

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10:00 p.m. Monday night for mountain areas in part of southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said additional snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches are forecast for the Siskiyou Mountains and Southern Oregon Cascades from Lake of the Woods southward. North of Lake of the Woods, 8 to 14 inches are possible.

The Warning Area includes the Southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains – including Crescent Lake, Howard Prairie, Crater Lake. Diamond Lake and Siskiyou Summit. This applies to portions of highways138, 230, 62, 58, 148 and 66.

Forecasters said roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines.
