An Oakland man was jailed, and a Riddle woman was cited for an alleged burglary on Friday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 3:30 p.m. a caller reported that there was a vehicle in the driveway of a home that he was watching for the owner, in the 8000 block of Rice Valley Road in the Oakland area. A deputy arrived and found the vehicle still in the driveway. The caller thought someone might be inside the home. The victim arrived and said she wanted to press charges if anyone was found.

Other units arrived and the deputies approached the home. After announcing and approaching the house, people could be heard inside. A 61-year-old man was found trying to exit the rear of the home. A 52-year-old woman was located as she tried to leave via the garage. Both were detained.

Each was charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree criminal trespass. The man was detained without bail, while the woman was cited and released.
