Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged theft incident early Monday.

An RPD report said at 3:00 a.m. 39-year-old Michael Hatton was allegedly found going through the victim’s van, which was parked in his driveway in the 1200 block of Northwest Keasey Street.  When contacted, Hatton was reportedly in possession of the victim’s binoculars and accessories that were in the van. He was also wanted by his parole officer.

Hatton was charged with unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, second-degree counts of theft and criminal trespass and a parole violation. Bail was set at $13,750.
