DEMOCRATS RETAIN HOLD ON STATEWIDE OFFICES IN OREGON

Democrats retained their hold on statewide offices in Oregon, according to results from the Oregon Secretary of State’s Office as of 3:00 a.m. Wednesday:

Tobias Read was elected Oregon Secretary of State, beating Dennis Linthicum 54 percent to 43 percent. Linthicum won in Douglas County, getting 67 percent of the vote to 32 percent for Read.

Elizabeth Steiner appears to have won the race for State Treasurer, leading Republican Brian Boquist 49 percent to 44 percent. Boquist got 74 percent of the vote in Douglas County.

Dan Rayfield beat Republican Will Lathrop in the race for Attorney General, receiving 53 percent of the vote over Lathrop’s 47 percent. Lathrop got 70 percent of the vote in Douglas County
