COUNTY RACES FOR STATE SENATE, STATE HOUSE

November 6, 2024 3:30 a.m. 

Looking at races for seats in the Oregon State Legislature, according to results from the Oregon Secretary of State’s Office as of 3:00 a.m. Wednesday:

State Senator David Brock Smith was re-elected to his District 1 seat, beating Democratic challenger Lupe Preciado-McAlister 70 percent to 30 percent. In Douglas County, Smith had a wider lead: 73 percent to 27 percent.

In District 2, Noah Robinson was elected to the seat held by his father Art Robinson, who did not seek re-election. Robinson captured 67 percent of the vote to 33 percent for Democrat Tracy Thompson. Robinson had 74 percent of the vote in Douglas County.

State Representative Court Boice won re-election to House District 1, getting 65 percent of the vote to 33 percent for Democrat Bret Cecil. Boice received 74 percent of the vote in Douglas County.

State Representative Virgil Osborne had a strong victory over Democrat August Warren in House District 2, getting 71 percent of the vote to 29 percent for Warren.

Alek Skarlatos was elected to be State Representative in District 4, beating Richard Chasm, 70 percent to 30 percent. In Douglas County, Skarlatos got 72 percent of the vote to 28 percent for Chasm.

Boomer Wright was re-elected to his House District 9 seat, getting 61 percent of the vote to 38 percent for Democrat William Mrkvicka. Wright had 66 percent of the vote in Douglas County.
