Sutherlin Police jailed a man after a stolen vehicle was recovered on Friday.

An SPD report said a friend of the victim left her phone in the victim’s vehicle which was later stolen. At 5:00 p.m. the friend was able to track her phone’s location to the parking lot of a motel on Hospitality Way in Sutherlin.

Officers found the vehicle, which was occupied by a 28-year-old. He was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and for possession of a controlled substance. The man was detained without bail.
