SUNRISE ENTERPRISES TO CONCLUDE PARTNERSHIP WITH OREGON E-CYCLES

Sunrise Enterprises has announced that effective January 1st, 2025, it will no longer serve as a collection partner for the Oregon E-Cycles program.

E-Cycles is one of the nation’s first statewide electronics recycling programs, according to information from the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality.

A Sunrise release said their decision follows a thorough assessment of the non-profit’s participation costs, which conservatively exceed $42,500 annually. After careful consideration, Sunrise has informed the relevant government agencies and wants to provide the community with ample notice of this upcoming change.

Until the end of this year, Sunrise will continue to accept up to seven e-cycle items per donor at its warehouse and retail locations throughout Douglas County. In line with the program’s requirements, Sunrise will not accept more than seven items per individual or household donation.

The release said Sunrise Enterprises remains dedicated to serving the Douglas County Community. By exiting the E-Cycles program, Sunrise can reallocate valuable resources to enhance its support for individuals with disabilities by investing directly into its people, processes and properties. The release said the realignment will allow the organization to better fulfill its mission and expand the opportunities they provide to the community.
