WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH 5:00 P.M. FRIDAY

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for mountain areas of southern Oregon above 5,000 feet through 5:00 p.m. Friday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said heavy snow is expected with additional accumulations between 6 and 12 inches. Winds will gust as high as 45 miles per hour.

The Warning area includes the South-Central Oregon Cascades, Southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains. It applies to Crater Lake National Park, Diamond Lake and highways 230, 62 and 138 as well as Highway 58 at Willamette Pass.

Forecasters said travel could be very difficult to impossible. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
