Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man on a dozen charges Monday morning in the Azalea area.

DCSO says 50-year-old Jeremy Yow was served a trespassing notice on Oct. 22 for illegally camping on BLM land off Quines Creek Road in Azalea. He was given 72 hours to leave the area, but remained in the area, according to the arrest report.

The report says Yow refused to exit his travel trailer when told he was under arrest by deputies around 9:30 a.m. Monday. The man eventually exited his trailer and reportedly made threats to kill and harm law enforcement and was allegedly holding two metal pipes.

Deputies used a taser to subdue Yow and take him into custody. DCSO reportedly found the man in possession of a makeshift firearm with a live .45 caliber round.

Yow is lodged at Douglas County Corrections on a total of 12 charges, including a felony count of first degree criminal mischief, four counts of menacing, unlawful possession and concealment of firearms, second degree criminal trespassing, resisting arrest, obstructing government and judicial administration, unlawful cutting and transferring forest products, offensive littering and depositing trash within 100 yards of a waterway.

Yow is being held without bail.
