ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR ALLEGED THEFT INCIDENT AT STORE

Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged theft incident at a store on Friday afternoon.

An RPD report said at 1:40 p.m. officers contacted the 66-year-old at Sherm’s Thunderbird Market in the 2500 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway. Loss prevention employees claimed the man had tried to leave the store with over $112 worth of unpaid merchandise.

During the contact, the man also admitted to stealing approximately $50 in merchandise from the business on September 25th. He was charged with theft in both the second and third-degree. Bail was set at $7,500.
